artist statement
My connection to different mediums started as a desire to feel close to the world, to others, and to myself.
The heart of my work loves to explore the unknown wilderness inside and alchemically transform heavier topics through paint, collage, wire, storytelling, fiber arts, and more.
For me, art is the window to ourselves. My muse is the soul. It requires a great deal of grit, honesty, and compassion. My desire is simply to create understanding and closeness where there was none.
